How to Make Non-Toxic, Gentle Baby Wipes at Home (In 5 Minutes!)
As a naturopathic health coach for women and moms, one of the most common things I hear is “I just want to know what’s safe for my family — and not spend a fortune doing it!” If that’s you, you’re going to love this easy DIY for clean baby wipes you can make right at home.
Most store-bought baby wipes are filled with preservatives, fragrances, and skin-irritating chemicals — even the ones labeled “sensitive” or “gentle.” Our little ones deserve better.
The Healthier, Budget-Friendly Alternative
This simple recipe is made with ingredients you probably already have at home (or can easily grab on Amazon). It takes just a few minutes, is completely customizable, and so much better for your baby’s delicate skin.
What You’ll Need:
Medline Ultrasoft Dry Wipes (I get mine from Amazon — they’re soft, durable, and perfect for this)
2 cups boiled water (I use boiled Reverse Osmosis water)
2 Tbsp organic coconut oil
1 Tbsp Castile soap (like Dr. Bronner’s — unscented or baby mild is ideal)
How to Make Them:
Boil 2 cups of purified water and let it cool slightly.
Stir in 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of Castile soap and mix gently.
Pour over the dry wipes and place them into an airtight wipe dispenser or container.
Pro tip: You can adjust the amount of Castile soap if you prefer fewer bubbles — a little goes a long way!
Why I Love This:
✨ No synthetic chemicals, preservatives, or fragrances
✨ Coconut oil nourishes and protects baby’s skin
✨ Castile soap gently cleans without stripping natural oils
✨ Budget-friendly and better for the planet
✨ Takes less than 5 minutes to make
Give It a Try!
I hope you love this little mom hack as much as I do! It’s one of those simple swaps that makes a big difference over time for both your baby’s health and your peace of mind.
