πŸ… Organic Classic Marinara Sauce

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 20 min
Total time: 30 min
Makes: about 5–6 cups

Ingredients:

  • ΒΌ cup organic avocado oil

  • 6 cloves organic garlic, peeled and smashed

  • 2 (28-ounce) cans organic whole tomatoes or crushed tomatoes β€” look for San Marzano or Italian-imported if possible

  • 1 teaspoon mineral-rich sea salt, plus more to taste

  • ΒΌ cup fresh organic herbs, such as basil, oregano, or flat-leaf parsley

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil until shimmering. Add the garlic cloves and sautΓ© until lightly golden, about 2–3 minutes.

  2. Remove the garlic with a slotted spoon and discard (or save it for another dish!).

  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add the diced tomatoes and salt. Use an immersion blender to blend the sauce right in the skillet to your preferred consistency β€” I like it pretty smooth!

  4. Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and flavors deepen.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh herbs.

  6. Serve warm or store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 4 days.
