Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream (That’s Actually a Superfood!)

When you make ice cream at home with the right ingredients, it can actually be nourishing and supportive for your body. Especially your hormones, gut health, and energy!

This fall, I’m taking everyone’s favorite flavor — pumpkin spice — and turning it into a creamy, dreamy superfood dessert that you can feel good about serving your family (or just yourself 😉).

Why This Ice Cream is Actually Nourishing

Pasture-raised eggs → Eggs are rich in choline, protein, and fat-soluble vitamins that support hormone balance, brain health, and energy.
Grass-fed cream + milk → These are loaded with omega-3s, vitamins A, D, and K2, plus the healthy fats that help keep you full and satisfied.
Pure maple syrup → A natural sweetener that’s less processed, full of trace minerals like zinc and manganese, and easier for your body to handle than refined sugar.
Pumpkin + spices → Pumpkin is rich in fiber and beta-carotene (hello, vitamin A for skin + immune health!). Cinnamon and pumpkin spice add antioxidants and support blood sugar balance.

So yes! This is dessert you can feel good about. 🍦🍂

Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs (pasture-raised, if you can!)

  • ½ cup pure maple syrup

  • 1 ½ cups whipping cream (grass-fed, organic!)

  • ½ cup whole milk (grass-fed, organic!)

  • 1 cup organic pumpkin puree

  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin spice

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:
Whisk the eggs and maple syrup until smooth and a little frothy.
Add the cream, milk, pumpkin, spices, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
Pour into your ice cream maker and churn according to your machine’s directions.
Serve immediately for soft-serve, or transfer to a container and freeze for a few hours to firm up.

A Few Tips:

  • Use full-fat dairy — the fats are what make this both creamy and satisfying (and they’re great for hormone health).

  • Don’t skip the spices — cinnamon in particular helps your body handle the natural sugars in maple syrup more gently.

  • Here’s my favorite ice cream maker from Cuisinart!

  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can pour the mixture into a freezer-safe dish, stir every 30 minutes, and let it set until it’s scoopable.

The Bottom Line

Pumpkin spice doesn’t have to mean sugar-filled lattes or processed desserts from the store. You can enjoy the cozy, nostalgic flavor of fall while still fueling your body with ingredients that truly nourish.

So, who’s ready for a scoop? 🍁
